Responsible gaming
Aviator is a game of chance, and every bet can be lost. This page explains the risks specific to crash games and the signs of a problem. It also lists the tools that help you stay in control, with a session timer and a budget calculator you can use right here, and where to find free, confidential help.
Why crash games need extra care
Crash games like Aviator feel different from slots. A few features make it easy to play longer and bet more than you planned.
Rounds are short
A new round starts every few seconds. A round that ends at 2.00x lasts about eight seconds. Dozens of bets can pass in a few minutes, and losses add up faster than you notice.
"Just one more round"
Each round is over almost before you think about it, so stopping feels arbitrary. The next round is always seconds away.
The near miss
You cash out at 1.50x, and the plane flies to 20x. That feels like a loss, even though you won. It can push you to wait longer next time. Every round is independent. What happened last round tells you nothing about the next one.
Chasing losses
Doubling your bet after a loss, as in the Martingale system, looks like a way to win it back. In practice, it raises your stake fast and can empty a budget in a short streak. No betting pattern changes the house edge.
Auto Bet
Auto Bet places a bet every round without you pressing anything. It’s convenient, but it also removes the natural pause between decisions. In the UK, autoplay has been banned for all online casino games since January 17, 2025.
Two bets at once
Aviator lets you place two bets in the same round. That doubles what’s at stake per round, even if each bet looks small.
Signs that gambling is becoming a problem
- You spend more money or time than you planned.
- You bet again to win back what you lost.
- You borrow money, or use money meant for bills, to play.
- You hide how much you play from people close to you.
- You feel anxious, irritable or low when you can’t play.
- You keep playing after you’ve decided to stop.
- You believe a pattern, app or signal can tell you when to cash out.
If any of these sound familiar, take a break and talk to someone. The services below are free and confidential.
Tools that help you stay in control
Most licensed casinos offer these tools in your account settings:
- Deposit limits: a daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much you can add.
- Loss limits: a cap on how much you can lose in a period.
- Time limits and reality checks: reminders of how long you’ve played, or a hard stop.
- Time-outs: a short break, from a day to a few weeks.
- Self-exclusion: closing your account for months or years.
Set limits before you play, not during a session.
In the UK, GAMSTOP lets you self-exclude from all UKGC-licensed gambling sites at once. Register at gamstop.co.uk.
Set your own limits: session timer and budget calculator
Casino limits work inside one account. These two tools work before you log in: plan the money for the month, then time each session. Nothing you enter leaves your browser.
Budget calculator
Start from the money you can afford to lose this month, not from what you hope to win. Money for rent, bills or debts never goes into this number.
The results update as you type, which needs JavaScript. The figures below are for the default values.
Your plan
- Budget per session
- Rounds per session
- at this stake, if every bet loses
- Total staked per month
- each session budget bet once
- Expected cost per month
- 3% house edge
Aviator returns 97% of all money staked over a very long run. The other 3% is the house edge. On average, you lose about 3 cents of every dollar you bet, so $100.00 staked a month costs about $3.00. Winnings you bet again add to the total staked and to the cost. A single session can go much worse, down to the whole session budget.
When the session budget is gone, stop. Never top it up to win back losses. No betting system changes the 3% house edge.
Session timer
Decide how long you will play before you open the game. Start the timer with your first round and stop when it runs out, even in the middle of a streak.
The session timer needs JavaScript. Without it, set a timer on your phone before you play.
Time left
30:00
Pick a length and press Start. The timer keeps counting if you open other pages of this site.
